A Little About Our Wedding

When we were planning our wedding, we thought we had it figured out.

Like most couples, we had a vision in our heads of how things should go, and we were set on skipping a first look. We told ourselves it wasn’t for us—that we didn’t want to lose the emotion of seeing each other at the aisle. We were convinced that waiting until the ceremony was the only way to make it meaningful.

But our photographer, who had walked through so many weddings before ours, gently encouraged us to consider another perspective. She told us that a first look wasn’t about taking away from the aisle moment, but about adding something deeper—a quiet time for just the two of us before the whirlwind began. At first we hesitated, but in the end, we chose to trust her.

When we’re not photographing, life looks a little different but just as meaningful. Mikayla loves crocheting and creating things with her hands. Together, we serve as worship leaders at our church—a role that keeps us grounded in faith and community. Zach is a music enthusiast and also works as a dialysis technician, which gives him a deep perspective on how fragile and precious life’s moments really are.

We bring all of who we are into our work—the creativity, the love for people, the balance of our strengths, and the joy we find in serving together.
