Husband and Wife Duo

Hey there — we’re Zachery and Mikayla Means.

A husband-and-wife photography duo who believe wedding and portrait photos are more than images. They’re anchors.

They’re the way you return to the heart of your day — even decades from now.

here is A Little About Our Wedding Day (and Why It Shaped Everything).

When we were planning our wedding, we thought we had it all figured out.

Like most couples, we had a vision for how the day should go, and we were set on skipping a first look. We believed waiting until the aisle would make the moment more emotional — more meaningful.

But our photographer, someone who had walked through countless wedding days before ours, gently invited us to consider another perspective. She explained that a first look wasn’t about taking away from the ceremony — it was about adding something quieter, deeper, and more intentional before the whirlwind began.

We hesitated… and then we trusted her.

That decision changed everything.

Our first look became the most sacred pause in our entire day. Away from the timeline, the noise, and the crowd — we had a moment that was just ours. It was quiet. It was real. And in its own way, it felt holy.

For the first time that day, we could breathe.

We could:

laugh

cry,

and simply be together.

Our photographer captured those moments gently and unobtrusively, and to this day, those images are among the most treasured we own. Not because they’re perfect — but because they bring us back to how it felt.

That experience taught us something we’ll never forget:

The most meaningful photos aren’t always the big, planned moments.

They’re the in-between glances.

The tears no one else sees.

The moments you can never get back.

And that truth is the foundation of how — and why — we photograph the way we do today.

Why We Photograph the Way We Do:

Ever since our wedding day, we’ve carried that perspective into how we serve our couples and families.

We don’t just show up with cameras — we step into your story as guides.

We help you slow down.

We protect the moments that matter.

And we create space for emotions you didn’t even realize you needed time to feel.

Life moves fast — whether it’s a wedding day, senior year, or a season of raising a family. Most of it passes in a blur.

But the quiet pauses?

Those are the moments that stay with you.

The way your parents’ eyes fill with tears.

The look you share when no one else is watching.

The smile before stepping into the next chapter.

Those are the moments we fight to preserve — because they’re the ones that truly mean everything.

A Marriage-First Perspective:

As a husband-and-wife team, we bring more than technical skill.

We bring empathy.

We know what it feels like to live these moments — and we understand how much these photos will matter years from now.

Every wedding we photograph is a reminder of our own, and

it’s an honor to walk alongside couples stepping into the same sacred promises.

But our heart doesn’t stop at weddings.

Whether it’s a family session, a couples session, senior portraits, or welcoming a newborn, we approach every story with the same conviction:
photos are about more than faces or poses — they’re about connection, meaning, and legacy.

Our Approach:

We approach every session with joy, care, and a deep commitment to authenticity.

Our goal is to make the experience feel easy, uplifting, and true to who you are. We’ll guide you when you need direction and step back when the moment deserves to unfold naturally.

Photography, to us, is about more than delivering a gallery. It’s about building relationships — the kind that make you feel comfortable, seen, and genuinely cared for.

When you work with us, you’re not just another session on the calendar.

You’re family.

And these memories mean everything to us, too!

Who We Are Outside the Camera:

When we’re not photographing, life looks a little quieter — and just as meaningful.

Mikayla loves crocheting and creating things with her hands. Together, we serve as worship leaders at our church, a role that keeps us grounded in faith and community.

Zach is a music enthusiast and also works as a dialysis technician, which has shaped his deep appreciation for how fragile and precious life truly is.

We bring all of who we are into our work — the creativity, the empathy, the joy of serving together.

We’re not just photographers who happen to be married.

We’re partners who believe your marriage, your family, and your milestones matter more than the photos themselves.

Our Promise to You:

When you choose us,

you’re choosing more than photographers.

You’re choosing a team that understands how quickly life moves — and how important it is to preserve it with intention.

We’ll step in when you need guidance, step back when the moment matters most, and always protect the heart of your story.

Your memories deserve more than a gallery.

They deserve to be remembered with care, honesty, and love.

And we’d be honored to help do that for you.
